Haha, I'm back.

I don't know how many of you actually like the ELO-face from the cover of Balance of Power, but I've grown rather fond of it, really. So I was bored last night at four in the morning, and ended up making a cover for if Heaven Only Knows had been released as a single.

Here it is.Collapse )

What do you all think? I'd love any input, but mostly I just wanted to share the results of my boredom, haha.

2:20 pm - Wow

It's really funny to see this community! I started it about three years ago with my then-best friend. I remember we had no members forever and then like 10 for even longer haha I hadn't checked it in so long to come back and find over 85 friends? WOW!
So thanks everyone for joining up. I still love ELO, and I'm glad everyone here does too.

Okay, I need help.

I downloaded 'Lift Me Up' a week ago, and I've been listening to it nonstop. I love this song so much. I love it. So. Much.

But I have been looking for Armchair Theatre with all my might, and I can't find it at a reasonable price! The cheapest I've seen is around $20 for a used copy from Amazon. I went to FYE to ask if it could be ordered, and the man at the counter said it was 'VERY out of print.'

What is this?!

Does anyone have a copy of it that they wouldn't mind uploading somewhere for me? I really really very strongly want to hear the rest of this album. Limewire's got nothing.

(If this isn't allowed, I'm sorry, but i figured that since the album's out of print, no harm)

Thanks in advance. <3

10:15 pm - Telephone Line Lyrics

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Title: Telephone Line
Artist: Electric Light Orchestra
Album: A New World Record
Year: 1976

Hello--how are you?
Have you been alright, through all those lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely nights,
Thats what I'd say, I'd tell you everything,
If you'd pick up that telephone

Yeah yeah yeah

Hey--how you feelin?
Are you still the same
Don't you realize the things we did, we did were all for real not a dream,
I just can't believe
They've all faded out of view

Yeah yeah yeah yeah

Ooohhh oooooh

Do wop doo be doo doo wop
Doo wah doo wayyy

Blue days, black nights

Doo wah doo wayyy

I look into the sky
(the love you need ain't gonna see you through)
And I wonder why
(the little things are finally coming true)

Oh, oh telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight
Oh, oh telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight

O.k. so no--one's answering,
Well can't you just let it ring a little longer, longer longer
Ohhh, I'll just sit tight, through the shadows of the night
Let it ring for evermore.

Ohhh ohhh ohhh
Yeah yeah yeah

Do wop doo be doo doo wop
Doo wah doo wayyy

Blue days, black nights

Doo wah doo wayyy

I look into the sky
(the love you need ain't gonna see you through)
And I wonder why
(the little things are finally coming true)

[x3] Oh, oh telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight...

8:08 pm - Handle With Care Lyrics

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Title: Handle With Care
Artist: The Traveling Wilburys
Album: The Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1
Year: 1998

Been beat up and battered 'round
Been sent up, and I've been shot down
You're the best thing that I've ever found
Handle me with care

Reputation's changeable
Situation's tolerable
But baby, you're adorable
Handle me with care

I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show me that you really care?

Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I've been fobbed off, and I've been fooled
I've been robbed and ridiculed
In day care centers and night schools
Handle me with care

Been stuck in airports, terrorized
Sent to meetings, hypnotized
Overexposed, commercialized
Hand me with care

I'm so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won't you show me that you really care?

Everybody's got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I've been uptight and made a mess
But I'll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle me with care...

I just joined this community. I have loved ELO since I was a little kid, over 30 years. Glad to see other fans of one of the greatest bands in the world and yes, I think ELO is better than the Beatles. The band took more risks and tried new sounds.

3:32 pm - Surrender

Okay, how many of you are up to date in the news goin on here in ELO-land? I'm on The Showdown and all that, so I've been hearing all about the remasters and the topic of my post, but I know some of you may not be.

Anyway, for those of you who don't know: the remasters on back on track. Most notably, "On the Third Day", "Face the Music", and "A New World Record" are going to be out soon. Check out www.ftmusic.com when you can for the information. On the main page, play the same old trick I learned from my years in the Homestar Runner community: Hit tab and it will highlight the diffrent links. You should find the ELO logo is clickable and hit that and see what you find...

NEW MUSIC! Yeah! People are awash with theories on the mailing list about when this was recorded and all that jazz, but what do you think? I'm hearing some pretty darn mixed opinions. Some hear Kelly, some don't, some hear SAXAPHONES....I dunno, I can't hear either. XD I'm curious to see what people on the community think. :3

(You should see how much the promo vinyls are selling on eBay. :o)

Hey everyone! I need some help...I've bought a VERY BEST OF THE MOVE compilation, and it's missing a few apparently very important songs and I was just wondering if anyone could be so kind as to send me "Tonight" and "Message From the Country" via AIM, e-mail, anything.

Thanks very much in advance! =)

11:48 am - Do you remember Steve Gibbons?

Hi there, everybody! :) My name is Mike, I'm of Moscow, and I'm really interested in ELO, various related music and other fellow brummies. I have a question and decided to ask it here, because it's kinda related staff. Does anybody know brummie named Steve Gibbons? He was in the band called Uglys (that's where Richard Tandy turned professional) and later joined the last incarnation of Idle Race, turning it into a Steve Gibbons Band (SGB). The problem is I searching an info about SGB, it's activities, events, details, and I can't find nothing except for discography. I even cannot find his date of birth! Maybe someone got some material or link or anything? I would be very grateful indeed!!
